In the pittoresque village of Högland you can visit the old saw-mill and the heritage museum around it. It was built during the 1850’s and was in use for about 100 years. Högland is located next to the river Långseleån and just like many other villages in Dorotea municipality, it has a long history of forest industry.
The say-mill was repaired during the 1980’s so that the wheel and water canal could be used like in the old days. On the area you can also see an old log cabin and a smokehouse.
Högland is located about 50 kilometres from Dorotea when traveling towards Borgafjäll. Follow the signs towards Hembygdsområde.
