Snowshoe Hiking

Snowshoe Hiking

Snowshoe hiking is a perfect alternative when the snow is deep, and you feel the urge to hike. Snowshoeing means freedom and gives you the opportunity to explore areas you wouldn’t visit in winter otherwise. With a pair of snowshoes, you can just walk straight into nature without having to follow any trails.

Whether you hike along marked trails or venture into unmarked terrain, it’s important to think about safety and take responsibility for finding your way. Bring a map and compass, and if you get unsure, follow your own tracks back. Also, remember that the hiking trails are designed for bare ground, and trail markers can be snow-covered and hard to spot, especially in the mountain area.
