With a snowmobile, you can easily reach the high mountain areas around Borgafjäll to experience magical views, or head out onto a mountain lake for ice fishing in the sunshine. In the forest areas, you travel surrounded by snow-covered trees, across vast marshlands, and past mountains and rock formations. Around Dorotea municipality, there are 500 kilometers of groomed snowmobile trails, all offering fantastic and varied nature experiences.

In Borgafjäll, there are several snowmobile rental companies that can also give tips on great tours up the mountain.
Snowmobile Trails and Trail Permits
The snowmobile trails are maintained by nine local snowmobile clubs that are part of the organization SAIDK (Snowmobile Alliance in Dorotea Municipality). To keep the trails in good condition, a fee in the form of a trail permit is charged. The trail permits are sold by the various snowmobile clubs, and contact information can be found on SAIDK’s hemsida.

Welcome to ride a snowmobile in Lappland’s Southern Gateway, but remember to follow the rules and show consideration for residents and other visitors! Also, plan your free riding so that you do not disturb or damage flora, fauna, and other industries and visitors. Together, we help take care of our nature and each other!
- Snowmobiling is not allowed on busy roads.
- Use snowmobile trails through restricted areas.
- All snowmobiling on clear-cut areas is prohibited.
